Thanks for helping test the alpha
You're trying GuestResearcher.com very early. Here's what to expect and how to give feedback.
What this is
GuestResearcher.com is an independent community resource for visiting researchers, scholars, fellows, and trainees to find housing, hand off moving-sale items, and meet people near research campuses. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any university or government agency.
Pick your path
Researcher / fellow
Does the housing/marketplace/events experience fit a real research stay? Try browsing housing near a hub and a moving-sale post.
Landlord / homeowner
Would the posting flow work for you? Try a housing post (it’s held for review) and read For landlords.
Technical tester / friend
You don’t need to be a researcher — hunt for bugs and rough edges on desktop and mobile, then report a bug.
Suggested test script
- Browse housing (and marketplace/events).
- Open a listing — inspect a [DEMO] one and confirm it’s clearly marked not real.
- Submit feedback via Contact (idea, bug, or listing issue).
- Join the launch list.
- Only if you’re comfortable, try posting a listing — with no sensitive info.
What to try
- Browse housing, marketplace, and events — do the pages make sense?
- Open a listing — is the trust badge and safety info clear? Are [DEMO] items obviously demo?
- Try posting a listing and see how the review step feels.
- Join the launch list and send a message through Contact.
- Read the Help & FAQ and Safety pages — anything confusing?
What’s intentionally off
- No real email is sent — the launch list and contact form just record your interest.
- Commercial and landlord posts are held for review before they appear publicly.
- No in-app messaging yet.
- Running on a temporary
*.hosted.appURL — no custom domain yet.
How to give feedback
Use the Share feedback link in the alpha banner, or the Contact page. Pick a topic so we can route it:
- Suggest a feature — an idea for something new (reviewed, not guaranteed).
- Idea / feedback — anything that would make it better.
- Report a bug — something broken or confusing.
- Listing issue — a problem with a specific listing.
- Safety concern — anything that feels unsafe.
