Community Guidelines
GuestResearcher is built on trust. These guidelines describe the standards we intend for the community as features launch. They reflect our values today and will become enforceable rules when interactive features go live.
1. Be who you say you are
Membership is built around verified, eligible guest researchers and their host institutions. Misrepresenting your identity, affiliation, or eligibility undermines the trust the whole community depends on.
2. Treat people with respect
We come from many countries, cultures, disciplines, and backgrounds. Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, and personal attacks have no place here. Assume good faith and be welcoming to newcomers.
3. Keep listings honest
- Describe housing, items, and events accurately and fairly.
- Honor the terms you advertise, including price and availability.
- Don’t post duplicate, misleading, or off-topic listings.
4. Protect privacy and safety
Don’t share others’ personal information without consent. Meet safely, use good judgment with strangers, and report anything that feels unsafe.
5. No prohibited content
Don’t use GuestResearcher to post illegal goods or services, spam, scams, or content that violates the rights of others or the policies of host institutions.
6. Respect the purpose of the community
GuestResearcheris for guest researchers and the people who support them. Outside organizations and employers will have dedicated, paid ways to reach the community — please don’t route around them through ineligible accounts.
7. Reporting and enforcement
When community features launch, we’ll provide tools to report content and behavior that breaks these guidelines. We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate them. Our goal is always to keep the community trusted, safe, and genuinely useful.
