Love room in Bethesda, MD home within walking distance to NIH and NCI

We are pleased to offer a lovely and spacious bedroom with private access to a full bath within walking distance to the National Institutes of Health and National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD.

The bedroom and bath are contained on a separate floor and are for the sole use of the tenant. The (up a few stairs after entering the main doorway). All other facilities are shared with full access to the kitchen plus private use of a separate refrigerator. The bedroom has great natural lighting and two very spacious closets. Some perks of the bedroom include an Illy coffee machine, smart TV, queen bed, desk, comfy chair, full length mirror, dresser, and convenient shelves. Since the bedroom sits on its own level at a corner of the house, it is very quiet. There is extra storage available in our basement for a bike and luggage.

The location is super convenient and is only .9 miles (1.4km) to the Old Georgetown Rd NIH entrance. Two bus lines are also available to the Medical Center Metro station (closest Metro). Given the shared environment of the house, we are looking for someone who values a clean and quiet environment and who will be respectful to the home, neighbors, and the other occupants of the house. House rules include quiet hours and a strictly non-smoking environment.

About the landlords: We are a married couple happy to share the kitchen, laundry room, and basement facilities. I work at the FDA and my wife works at an international organization in DC. Our daughter is at University and will be home breaks and holidays. We have a great kitchen with all the necessities including an air fryer and nut milk maker. Access to the house is 24/7. Two friendly dogs are also part of the household.

Other perks include being close to the Bethesda Trolley trail, YMCA, Wildwood Center (Balducci’s, CVS, Giant Food, Starbucks, Pain Quotidien, plus many more), and I-495. Short-term and month-to-month leases are welcome. Free and plentiful street parking is available.

Please note that all applicants will need to agree to a separate background check due to the property being in Montgomery Co, MD (at no cost to the applicant). We understand sharing a house may seem daunting at first, so we are happy to host viewings in person and virtually. We have had a stream of wonderful tenants including travel nurses and fellows at the NIH. We can arrange for weekly rentals as well.
