What gets a host to reply

You’re posting what you need, not a place you have — so there are no photos, map or property details to fill in. A few specifics do most of the work:

• Your dates — arrival and departure. Hosts with a term-length gap are looking for exactly that; “flexible” is much harder to match.
• Where you need to be — the campus, lab or hospital, and roughly how far you’d travel. Naming the institution is what makes your post findable.
• Your budget — a range you can actually pay, so nobody wastes anyone’s time.
• What you need in a place — furnished or not, a room versus a whole place, and who is coming with you.
• A line about you — the appointment you’re arriving for. It is the single thing that most often turns a maybe into a yes.

Your email and phone stay private — hosts reply through the contact form on your post. If you set a departure date, the post comes down the day after, so nobody replies to a search that has already ended.
